With over 10 years experience in venture capital and private equity investment in China, Kathy Xu is one of the most experienced practitioners in the market. She serves on the Board of the China Venture Capital Association ("CVCA") and recently led the successful negotiations with SAFE. Kathy founded Capital Today in 2005 to focus on growth capital opportunities in China. She was previously Managing Director & China Country Head of Baring Private Equity Asia Limited for 7 years, where she was responsible for building the China team and leading its investment program in China. Prior to that Kathy was at Peregrine Direct Investments, Price Waterhouse, Bank of China Beijing. She is a Qualified UK CPA and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Nanjing University. She was recently nominated as "One of the 25 Most Influential People in Asia" - "2004 STARS OF ASIA" by Business Week, as well as one of the ten "Most Influential Venture Capitalists In China" by Capital Magazine (March 2005).
