Olivier Glauser is currently a Senior Director at QUALCOMM Ventures, the venture capital division of QUALCOMM Incorporated, where he is in charge of International Venture Investment activities. In 2003, he relocated from California to Beijing, established QUALCOMM¡¯s $100M allocation for venture investments in China, and built QUALCOMM Ventures as a key player in the booming Chinese venture industry. While based in Beijing, he led several high profile investments in the Chinese Wireless Industry (TechFaith Wireless ¨C Nasdaq:CNTF, Enorbus Technologies, Great Wall Software, ¡). Mr. Glauser co-founded QUALCOMM Ventures ($500M corporate commitment) in 2000. He was a key contributor in building QUALCOMM Ventures into a successful organization and a leading private equity player. He led and managed many of QUALCOMM¡¯s successful venture investments in Silicon Valley and throughout the US (Airvana, Spatial Wireless, PayPal, M7 Networks, ¡). Prior to starting his investment career, Mr. Glauser led a system engineering team who pioneered and designed next generation wireless technologies (3G ¨C cdma2000 and WCDMA), in used today by over 200 million subscribers worldwide. He is the author of several US patents on high speed wireless technologies and also played a leading role in the first deployments of commercial wireless CDMA networks in the United States and Asia. Prior to joining QUALCOMM (San Diego, California) in 1994, Mr. Glauser worked at the European Commission in Brussels, where he actively participated in the WTO negotiations on liberalization of telecommunication services. Olivier holds a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) and an MBA Degree from the Harvard Business School. |
