A pioneer in China¡¯s venture capital community, Mr. Zhu, Linan founded Legend Capital in 2001 when there were few venture capital firms in China. He is responsible for the overall strategy of Legend Capital and its execution. He is a member of the Investment Committee and sits on the board of directors of portfolio companies. He also serves as executive vice president of Legend Holdings and as non-executive director of Lenovo Group. Mr. Zhu has over 18 years of experience in the IT industry, including 4 years of entrepreneurship. Prior to Legend Capital, Mr. Zhu worked with Legend Group, the predecessor of Lenovo Group, since 1989. He set up and served as General Manager of Shenzhen Legend Computer Ltd. ¨C the company's first production base. In 1993, Mr. Zhu left Legend Group to start his own company, which was engaged in IT product sales and system integrations and provided IT products and software development services to electric power companies. He rejoined Legend Group in 1997 and served in succession as General Manager of Business Planning, Vice President and then Senior Vice President of the group. He was responsible for business development of the headquarters, back-office management, execution of overall strategies and major business plans. He has rich experience in general management and has established a wide range of contacts across the IT and VC industries. Mr. Zhu served and sits on the Directors of Board of many Legend Capital portfolio companies including Joyo.com (acquired by Amazon), Chongqing Broadband(acquired by China NetCom), Shanghai Huahong Semiconductor (acquired by Huahong Group), Solarfun (Nasdaq: SOLF), CDIM, ST&SAT and Zhaopin.com. Mr. Zhu was named Top 10 Venture Capitalist of the year by Forbes and China Venture respectively in 2006, and by Zero2ipo for 5 years. Mr. Zhu holds a Master's degree in E.E. from Shanghai Jiaotong University, and is a senior engineer. He is among China¡¯s experts enjoying an honorary allowance granted by the State Council. |
