Kevin co-founded the China operations of NPEAC in 2002 and has been in charge of establishing and developing its presence in the Chinese private equity market since then. He has successfully managed 9 Chinese transactions and has managed total or partial exit from 6 of those investments. Exits of investments that Kevin has managed include two of the most successful IPOs of Chinese companies, those of Suntech and LDK, both New York Stock Exchange listed companies.
Based in Shanghai, Kevin is responsible for the management of the NPEAC¡¯s Shanghai operational team and its daily investment activities, including deal sourcing, execution, closing, and post-investment management.
In 2000, Kevin joined Bonson Information Technology Limited, a Chinese private company specializing in the development and sales of mobile software systems, as Chief Financial Officer responsible for M&A/IPO initiatives and financial management. He successfully managed the acquisition of Bonson by AsiaInfo, a Nasdaq listed company. From 1999 to 2000, he held financial management position at Clear Communications in New Zealand, a leading local mobile operator and a subsidiary of British Telecom. In 1995, he worked as financial analyst at Fuji Xerox. Kevin started his career in product management at Switchtec Limited in 1989, a telecom power system manufacturer in China.
Kevin serves on the Board of Directors of LDK.
Kevin was named by Forbes Magazine (China December 2007 edition) as the fourth China Best Venture Capitalist 2007. He was also elected as one of the Top 10 Private Equity Capitalist in 2007 by Zero2IPO, a leading China private equity research institution based in Beijing. In 2008, he was named as one of Venture Capital People of the Year 2007, by Piper Jaffray and ChinaVenture Investment Conference 2008.
Kevin holds an MBA from Massey University in New Zealand and a degree in mechanical engineering from Hefei University of Technology, China.
