Stella Yang joined TPG Growth in July 2006 as an executive director. As one of the core members of the North Asia investment team, Ms. Yang has responsibility for sourcing, evaluating and executing investment opportunities across various fields such as technology, media, retail, consumption, bio-tech and industry, etc. in China. Prior to joining TPG, Ms. Yang was a Partner of Reed Elsevier Ventures, whose parent company is the largest publishing group and the 5th largest media group in the world, a listed company on stock exchanges in UK, US and the Netherlands. Ms. Yang led the formulating and executing of China investment strategy focused on media, publication and technology. She also worked closely with senior executives of the corporate and business units to develop and execute joint investment initiatives in China. From 1999 to 2005, Ms. Yang was an Executive Director and a member of the Management Committee of ChinaEquity Investment Co., where she had primary responsibility for different stages venture capital and portfolio management in hi-tech, media and telecommunication industries. She actively advised a number of domestic and international companies on corporate strategy, business development and financing initiatives. Prior to joining ChinaEquity , Ms. Yang worked for Morgan Stanley Asia Ltd. from 1996 to 1999. Ms. Yang has been core members of investments in companies including Agria Corp (NYSE: GRO), U-you TV Homeshopping, Huayi Brothers Media Group, Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU), LongShine (acquired by Amdocs / NYSE: DOX), Rising, ChinaCast Communication (NASDAQ: CAST). Ms. Yang holds a BA degree from Nanjing University and an MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and HKUST. |
