Mr. Chenwei began his VC career in 1999, as the pioneer of this field in China, he experienced himself the changes of this business in 8 years and always focuses on the development of domestic venture capital in China and has set up a good prestige in this field.
Mr.Chenwei previously served as Chairman of Shenzhen Venture Capital Association, President of Shenzhen Capital Group Co., Ltd, General Partner of CIVC Fund, Director of the SCGC-UOB Fund, Director of SCGC-Softbank Fund and Chairman of their investment committee. During his lieutenancy as the President of Shenzhen Capital Group Co., Ltd., the company ranked China¡¯s top three out of China¡¯s 50 Top VCs for many years, and achieved outstanding return rate on the whole 90 Invested deals, which is 30 percent. Mr.Chen himself was awarded the honor of Top Ten Investment Mangers in 2002 and 2003 separately, Distinguished Venture Capital Investor and Top Ten Venture Capitalists in 2005.
Mr.Chen created Shenzhen Oriental Fortune Capital CO., LTD in 2007. Also in this year OFC successfully raised two funds, one of which is 900 million Renminbi and the other is 100 million USD. These two funds under the management of OFC have three distinguished characteristics; one is that the Renminbi fund is the biggest one ever in China after the Limited Partnership is written in law in 2007, the other is that all the LPs come from private companies; The last one is that it¡¯s the first time that domestic investors manage both Renminbi and USD funds at the same time. Since its inception, OF Capital has worked actively, at present, it funds 15 companies in China, among which 3NOD has gone public in KOSDAQ, which is the first foreign company listed on Korea stock exchange. Another company Rainbow Chemical has done all the preparation works and will IPO this month in Shenzhen. We will see more and more Chinese companies funded by OFC listed on stock exchange in the future.
At the mean time, Mr. Chenwei gives lessons of EMBA program of a lot of famous Chinese universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University and so on. He also serves as adjunct professor in Xiamen University, Lanzhou Business School and Xiamen National Accounting Institute; Vice President of Peking University VC Reearch Institute and Beijing Technology & Business University VC Research Institute. Mr. Chenwei has more than ten year¡¯s working experiences in teaching and researching of accounting in University and six year¡¯s working experience as professional consultant and audit. Mr. Chenwei has published more thirty papers on accounting and nine books in this field.
