Mr. Lui is General Partner of Startup Capital Ventures and Vice Chairman of Zero2IPO Holdings.

In 1982, Mr Lui co-founded Daw Computer Systems Ltd. Daw Computer was the first and the largest IBM PC distributor in China since IBM launched it's PC in China in 1984. Daw Computer was the predecessor of Legend Group.

In 1987, Mr. Lui co-founded Lenovo Group (previously known as Legend Group) with Mr. Liu Chuanzhi in Hong Kong. In 1994, Mr. Lui and Mr Liu led Lenovo through a successful IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange [HKSE: 0992]. In December 2004, Lenovo acquired the PC Division of IBM for US$1.7 billion. Today, Lenovo is the third largest PC manufacturer in the world.

In 2000, Mr. Lui co-founded Authosis Ventures, an early stage venture fund. The fund focusing on both IT and Semi-conductor industry and invest mainly in early stage software and fabless IC design companies in Silicon Valley and China.

In 2005, Mr Lui co-founded Startup Capital Ventures, with Mr. John Dean, former Chairman and CEO of Silicon Valley Bank and several other partners. The fund emphasizes on investing early-stage companies in Silicon Valley and China. The fund's managing partners collectively have over 1000 years of operating experience in investing and building successful companies.

Mr. Lui is a graduate in Computing Science of Imperial College, London.
