		Dr. Song has extensive experience in IT industry with in-depth knowledge in a broad range of technologies. He joined SBCVC in January 2000. His key role has been deal sourcing, due diligence, portfolio management, and technology steering for portfolio companies. He serves on the board of directors for several high tech companies. From 1995 to 1999, he was a Director of Information Technology of UTStarcom, played a key role in planning and implementing the company ' s IT product strategy. He also managed many large-scale multi-company IT projects including national backbone for major carriers. From 1991 to 1995, he was an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut where he conducted research in the field of computer networks and information systems through grants from the Office of Naval Research, National Science Foundation, and Fortune 500 companies. Dr. Song holds B.S.and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University, and Ph.D. from School of Management, Tsinghua University .
