Vincent Chan is the CEO, Co-Founder and IC Member of Spring Capital. He has 19 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. Vincent was an IC Member at JAFCO Asia from 2000 to 2007. He was Managing Director and Head of North Asia from 2000 to 2005, and instrumental in setting up the Beijing and Seoul offices. Having built strong teams in these two cities, Vincent focused on originating and executing many deals in China during the last 3 years. Vincent has backed some of China's most successful enterprises including BENQ, Ports Design, 3721, China Wireless, China Grentech, Canadian Solar, LDK and PPG. He was named Top Ten PRC Venture Capitalist by Zero to IPO in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. He was selected as one of the ten "Most Influential PRC Venture Capitalists" by Top Capital in 2005 and one of the "China Best Venture Capitalists" by Forbes Magazine in 2006. Prior to JAFCO Asia, he worked 9 years in private equity at Suez Asia, PrimePartners and HSBC Private Equity (Asia). Before commencing his career in private equity in 1991, Vincent spent several years in Standard Chartered Asia's corporate finance division. Vincent received a B. A. (Honors) from the University of HK in 1986, an MBA from the Manchester Business School in 1988, and earned a CFA in 1993. He is currently the President of HK Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (Chairman 2005/06), a member of Main Board and GEM Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of HK, a member of the Public Shareholders Group of HK Securities and Futures Commission and a member of the Disciplinary Panel of the HKICPA.
