Mr. Chan has worked on over $41 billion of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions including stock-for-stock mergers, cash mergers, stock purchases, asset purchases, tender offers, joint ventures, strategic alliances and divestitures, and executed various multi-million dollar private equity and venture capital financings, ranging from seed capital rounds to expansion and late stage investments. He has completed close to $1 billion of capital market transactions involving equity and debt securities offerings. He has consummated over $1.2 billion of syndicated bank financings, restructurings and securitizations.
In his Asia practice, Mr. Chan has provided counsel on a number of multi-million dollar acquisitions of Chinese and Japanese IT companies by U.S. interests. He has also represented large private equity and venture capital funds with respect to their portfolio company investments.
Mr. Chan regularly counsels boards of directors, executive management and business units, from funded Silicon Valley technology startups to major public companies, on strategic transactions, corporate governance, disclosure issues and corporate structure.
Over the years Mr. Chan has participated in a number of committees of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association, including Commercial Financial Services, Corporate Compliance, Developments in Business Financing, Negotiated Acquisitions, Trust Indentures and Indenture Trustees, and Venture Capital & Private Equity.
Mr. Chan is featured in Who is Who in Shanghai. Mr. Chan is a funding member of the Shanghai chapter of the Asia America MultiTechnology Association (AAMA).
